- Contract Type: Locum / Ongoing
- Working Pattern: Hybrid (office + remote working)
✅ About the Role
As a Fostering Social Worker in the Family & Friends Assessment Team, you will:
- Undertake Special Guardianship Order (SGO) and Connected Persons Assessments
- Complete viability assessments and full fostering assessments
- Work closely with kinship carers and extended family networks
- Prepare high-quality court-ready reports
- Contribute to safe and sustainable placements for children within their family networks
- Work collaboratively with safeguarding, court teams, and other professionals
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Family & Friends (Connected Persons) assessments
- Complete comprehensive assessments within court timescales
- Support and assess kinship carers
- Ensure all work aligns with fostering regulations and statutory requirements
- Maintain strong safeguarding and risk management practices
✅ Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, Social Work Degree)
- Registered with Social Work England
- Experience in Fostering, Kinship, or Family & Friends Assessments
- Strong knowledge of SGO, Connected Persons, and court processes
- Ability to produce high-quality, analytical reports
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
