Wiltshire council are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join as an Independent Reviewing Officer/CP Chair for its Children & Families Team . 3 months + contracts with excellent rates of pay at £42ph. Flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Wiltshire Council is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our Conference and Reviewing and Quality Outcomes for Families and Children Team on a short-term basis for a 3?month contract. This opportunity has arisen to provide essential cover following the departure of two IROs, ensuring continuity of high-quality oversight for our children in care. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering independent scrutiny, chairing statutory reviews, and promoting the best outcomes for children and young people across the county.

We are looking for a qualified social worker with substantial post-qualification experience, including a strong background in looked after children services and IRO practice. You will demonstrate excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding procedures, alongside the ability to confidently challenge and escalate concerns where necessary. Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
