We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner in Help & Protection to join our dynamic team in Coventry. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families within our community. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead by example, providing guidance and support to social work staff while managing a caseload of complex cases. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving positive outcomes for children and families, ensuring they receive the necessary support and intervention.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Managing a caseload of children in need and at risk, conducting assessments and developing tailored intervention plans.
- Providing supervision and support to junior social workers, ensuring high standards of practice and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding and support.
- Conducting regular reviews of care plans and risk assessments, adapting strategies as necessary to meet changing needs.
- Participating in training and development initiatives, promoting best practices within the team.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- Strong knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to social work practice.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
