Advanced Practitioner - Disabled Children's Team

£40 per hour (Umbrella)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join a Disabled Children's Team in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dedicated service supporting children and young people with disabilities to achieve the best possible outcomes.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality social work practice, supporting complex cases, and mentoring less experienced colleagues within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with children, young people, and families requiring advanced social work expertise
- Managing a small caseload, alongside joint working on cases with less experienced social workers
- Supervising, supporting, and mentoring newly qualified and junior staff
- Authorising assessments, care plans, and associated documentation
- Chairing strategy meetings and professional discussions
- Ensuring practice aligns with legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding best practice
- Supporting looked-after children and contributing to permanence planning
About the Team:
The team provides substantial, long-term support to children and young people with disabilities, ensuring they are safeguarded, supported, and given every opportunity to reach their full potential and achieve a positive quality of life.
Role Details:
- Location: One Angel Square, Northampton
- Rate: £40 per hour (Umbrella)
- Working Pattern: Hybrid (flexibility discussed at interview, with office presence required to support the team)
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practitioner looking to take on a leadership-focused role within a supportive and impactful service.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
