The single homeless service assist single customers who approach the service for housing assistance. They are required to complete a thorough homelessness assessment under relevant legislation, and support the customer into a suitable housing pathway. Experience of working in homelessness is required, along with experience of working with vulnerable people. Customers may include those with mental health issues, prison leavers, customers coming out of hospital etc. Experience of effectively preventing homelessness 2. Experience of carrying out robust enquiries and competently deciding homelessness applications in accordance with Part VII Housing Act 1996 as amended 3.. Ability to effectively manage a caseload whilst ensuring effective planning, prioritisation, case recording and communication with customers 4. Experience of front line contact with the public and communicating complex information in a clear and tactful manner while ensuring high levels of customer service 5. Ability to deal with complex, difficult or contentious enquiries or complaints 6. Experience of working as part of a team, and on own initiative with minimal supervision 7. Experience of negotiating effectively, and working in partnership with other departments, external agencies to achieve corporate goals. 8. Ability to effectively resolve problems 9. Good computer skills and the ability to use and navigate IT databases input, retrieve, store and effectively manage information. Number of days in the office 1 day but could be 2 days. 4 people in the team and a Team Lead . Demonstrable experience of working with client's with complex needs and experience of working with clients and their Probation officers and clients who have been released from Prison.
