Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Team Manager to join the Locality (Family First) Team at Manchester City Council.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead a busy frontline team, providing effective management, supervision and support to social workers delivering high-quality services to children, young people and their families. You will be responsible for overseeing complex cases, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met, promoting high standards of practice and driving positive outcomes for children.

As Team Manager, you will provide strong leadership, support staff development, monitor performance and work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure safeguarding concerns are managed effectively and interventions are delivered in line with statutory guidance.

Key Skills Required:

  • Previous Team Manager experience within Children's Services
  • Experience within Family First, Locality, Child Protection, Child in Need, Safeguarding or Assessment Teams
  • Strong leadership, supervision and performance management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of statutory children's social care legislation and safeguarding practice
  • Experience managing complex caseloads and supporting decision-making
  • Excellent communication, report writing and multi-agency working skills
  • Ability to drive service improvement and achieve positive outcomes for children and families
  • Social Work England registration required

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Previous Team Manager experience within Children's Services
  • Strong knowledge of statutory safeguarding legislation and children's social care practice
