We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our team in Wigan as a Team Manager in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). In this role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the MASH team and ensuring the effective coordination of services to safeguard vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Manage and supervise a team of social workers and support staff within the MASH setting.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure timely and appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns.
  • Conduct assessments and make decisions regarding the most suitable interventions for children and families at risk.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to share information and coordinate actions to safeguard children.
  • Participate in case conferences, strategy meetings, and reviews to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience working within a MASH or child protection setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team and make complex decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a range of stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in safeguarding children.
