Barnsley Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Practitioner to join their Practice Development Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled social worker who is passionate about improving practice standards, supporting workforce development, and driving excellence across children's services.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Lead on practice development initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes for children and families
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and support to social workers and newly qualified staff
- Contribute to the design and delivery of training and development programmes
- Support quality assurance processes, including audits and reflective supervision
- Promote best practice and ensure compliance with statutory guidance and safeguarding standards
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to embed effective practice models
✅ Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualified experience within children's services
- Previous experience in a senior/practice development or advanced practitioner role
- Strong knowledge of legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and best practice models
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
