Practice Development Lead - Children's SASH Team

£42.50 per hour (Umbrella)
Hybrid Working - 2 days in the office (Tuesday & Thursday)
Hertfordshire County Council is seeking an experienced Practice Development Lead to join their Children's SASH team. This is a niche and impactful opportunity, ideal for a social work professional passionate about training, development, and improving frontline practice.
This hybrid role offers flexibility, with a requirement to attend the office 2 days per week and additional days as needed based on service demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Team Managers and Quality Assurance to identify training and development needs
- Support and develop NQSWs/ASYE through coaching, mentoring, and reflective supervision
- Design and coordinate the ASYE training programme
- Support assessments against the Knowledge & Skills Statements (KSS)
- Provide guidance to both newly qualified and experienced social workers
- Support social work students and apprentices across various learning pathways
- Identify good practice and support service improvement across teams
Contract Details:
- Full-time position
- Start date: ASAP
- Initial 3-6 month contract with strong potential for extension

Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
