Advanced Practitioner - Strengthening & Supporting Families Team

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is looking for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join its Strengthening & Supporting Families Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled social worker to play a key role in supporting vulnerable children and families, while providing leadership, guidance, and professional support to colleagues within the team.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, undertaking high-quality assessments, and leading on safeguarding interventions to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people. You will work closely with families and partner agencies to deliver effective plans that promote stability, safety, and long-term wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee complex child and family cases.
  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments, CIN, CP, and court-related work.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and practice support to less experienced social workers.
  • Lead on safeguarding investigations and risk assessments.
  • Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children.
  • Ensure all recording, assessments, and plans are completed to a high standard and within statutory timescales.
  • Support the Team Manager in driving good practice and service improvement.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current SWE registration.
  • Extensive experience within Children's Services, ideally within safeguarding and family support teams.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience managing complex cases and supporting the development of other practitioners.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
