Tameside - Senior Practitioner - Safeguarding Team
Tameside Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Practitioner to join their Safeguarding Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive local authority and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families.
Location: Tameside, One, Market Place, Ashton-Under-Lyne
Pay Rate: Up to £40.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Hold and manage a caseload of complex safeguarding cases involving children and families.
- Provide direct support during visits and meetings to assist with assessment, planning, and intervention.
- Lead and support the team alongside the Team Manager to drive service improvement and achieve team objectives.
- Deliver reflective and group supervision to colleagues, promoting good practice, learning, and professional development.
- Support the improvement and accuracy of service performance data and recording standards.
- Provide leadership and operational support to the team in the absence of the Team Manager.
- Model high-quality social work practice and champion best practice across the service.
- Mentor, coach, and support newly qualified and less experienced staff, creating learning and development opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive team culture focused on achieving the best outcomes for children and families.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and partner agencies to ensure effective safeguarding interventions.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
