Tameside Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to join their Assessment Planning & Intervention Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive local authority and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families.

Location: Tameside, One, Market Place, Ashton-Under-Lyne.

Pay Rate: Up to £46.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a Neighbourhood Social Work team providing assessment, planning, and intervention services to children at the threshold of Child Protection, PLO, and Court proceedings.
  • Supervise and support social workers and ASYEs, ensuring high-quality practice and professional development.
  • Oversee and provide expert supervision for cases in the PLO and Court arena.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, families, colleagues, and partner agencies.
  • Provide a high level of support and constructive challenge to team members, fostering a motivated and effective team culture.
  • Ensure team members are equipped, confident, and empowered to deliver the best outcomes for children in Tameside.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and set clear expectations, inspiring teams to achieve excellence in statutory social care practice.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
