Senior Practitioner - Out of Hours Team
Location: Fairfield Children's Centre, Fairfield Road, Ashton-under-Lyne, M43 6AF
Rate: £40 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Locum

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join the Out of Hours Team in Tameside.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated emergency duty service, providing high-quality social work support and safeguarding interventions for children and families outside of normal office hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing advice, guidance, and support in response to urgent safeguarding concerns.
  • Managing emergency referrals and undertaking risk assessments.
  • Making informed decisions to ensure the safety and welfare of children and young people.
  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies, including police, health services, and emergency services.
  • Supporting less experienced team members and contributing to decision-making processes.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and completing required documentation.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Services.
  • Previous experience in an Emergency Duty Team, Out of Hours Team, or frontline safeguarding service.
  • Strong assessment, decision-making, and risk management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
