The London Borough of Merton is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. As a Qualified Social Worker in the CWD Team, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and develop appropriate support plans.
  • Working collaboratively with families, professionals, and external agencies to provide tailored support that promotes the well-being of children with disabilities.
  • Managing a caseload effectively, ensuring timely interventions and maintaining accurate records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding strategies.
  • Providing guidance and support to families, helping them navigate available resources and services.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to children’s social care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and manage a diverse caseload.
