Children's SSW - LAC Team - London Borough of Tower Hamlets
The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Social Worker (SSW) to join our Looked After Children (LAC) Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the welfare and safety of children in care, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to promote positive outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
- Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
- Providing ongoing support and guidance to children in care, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with legal and procedural requirements.
- Participating in court proceedings and contributing to reports as needed.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognised social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working with children and families, particularly in a looked after children context.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in children's services.
