Children's SSW - Haverhill Social Care Team - Suffolk
Join our dedicated Haverhill Social Care Team in Suffolk as a Children's Social Worker (SSW), where you will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Your primary responsibility will be to assess and support families, ensuring that children are provided with a safe and nurturing environment. You will work collaboratively with other professionals, community organizations, and families to deliver effective interventions tailored to the unique needs of each child.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing child protection plans and care plans.
- Providing direct support and guidance to children and families, facilitating access to services.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to case discussions.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Experience in working within a statutory children's social care setting is desirable.
