Children's SSW - LAC Team - Suffolk
Join our dedicated team as a Children's Social Worker (SSW) within the Looked After Children (LAC) Team in Suffolk. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in care, ensuring they receive the support and guidance they need to thrive. You will work collaboratively with families, foster carers, and other professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to each child's individual needs.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments and reviews to evaluate the needs of looked after children.
- Developing and implementing effective care plans in partnership with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Providing direct support and intervention for children and young people, promoting their emotional and social well-being.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Participating in team meetings, supervision, and training to enhance professional development.
To be considered for this role, you must have a recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Essential skills include a strong understanding of child development, safeguarding practices, and the ability to communicate effectively with children and families. Experience in working with looked after children or within a similar field is highly desirable.
