Social Worker - Child Protection / Children in Need (CP/CIN) Team | Nottingham City Council
About the Role
Nottingham City Council is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join its Child Protection / Children in Need (CP/CIN) Team on an ongoing agency contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive service, helping safeguard children and improve outcomes for vulnerable families.
Location: Nottingham (NG2 7QP)
Contract: Ongoing Agency Contract
Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection and Children in Need plans.
- Complete assessments, care planning, and statutory visits in line with legislation and local procedures.
- Build effective relationships with children, families, and partner agencies.
- Undertake risk assessments and develop plans to ensure children's safety and wellbeing.
- Prepare high-quality reports and maintain accurate case records.
- Attend strategy meetings, child protection conferences, core group meetings, and court proceedings where required.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.
- Experience working within Child Protection and/or Children in Need teams.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, and relevant statutory guidance.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
