The London Borough of Hounslow is looking for an experienced and motivated Locum Social Worker to join our Front Door & Early Help Service in the newly developed role of Education Liaison Social Worker.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of safeguarding and early intervention, building strong partnerships with schools and education providers to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.

About the Role

As our Education Liaison Social Worker, you will act as the key link between Children's Social Care and education settings across the borough. Working closely with Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), headteachers and multi-agency partners, you will provide expert safeguarding consultation, advice on thresholds, and guidance around Early Help, Child in Need and referral pathways.

The role is designed to improve the quality of professional decision-making, strengthen partnership working and reduce unnecessary escalation into statutory services.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing safeguarding consultation and professional advice to schools and education settings.
Supporting education professionals to understand thresholds and make high-quality referrals.
Representing Front Door & Early Help at school cluster meetings, DSL forums, safeguarding briefings and partnership events.
Contributing to the Vulnerable Children in Education Group, supporting children missing education, those with persistent absence and other vulnerable groups.
Working collaboratively with education, health, police and wider partners to promote early intervention and positive outcomes.
Maintaining accurate, analytical and defensible case recording.
Signposting professionals and families to appropriate local services and community support.
About You

Were looking for an experienced Social Worker who is passionate about partnership working and early help.

You will have:

Social Work England registration.
Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, thresholds and statutory guidance.
Experience of working effectively with schools and multi-agency partners.
Confidence in providing consultation, advice and professional challenge.
Strong communication, relationship-building and presentation skills.
Excellent assessment, recording and analytical skills.
A sound understanding of Early Help and preventative practice.
