Fostering Social Worker - Suffolk
Rate: £39 per hour
Contract: Locum
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake assessments of prospective foster carers, including Form F assessments.
- Provide ongoing supervision, support, and annual reviews for approved foster carers.
- Ensure foster carers are fully equipped to meet the needs of children and young people in placement.
- Work collaboratively with children's social workers, virtual schools, and partner agencies.
- Participate in fostering panel processes and contribute to decision-making.
- Support placement stability and promote positive outcomes for looked after children.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and reports in line with statutory requirements.
- Safeguard children and ensure all practice is compliant with fostering regulations and national standards.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualifying experience within a fostering service or children in care setting.
- Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, legislation, and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience in completing Form F assessments and supporting foster carers.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
