Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting 2 experienced Qualified Social Workers to join the Substance Misuse Team at Newcastle City Council on an agency basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for motivated and experienced social workers to support the team with duty and short-term casework, working with adults affected by substance misuse and helping to deliver timely, person-centred interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage duty responsibilities within the Substance Misuse Team.
  • Undertake short-term assessments and interventions with adults requiring support.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and develop outcome-focused support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with health professionals, partner agencies and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assess risk and implement appropriate safeguarding measures where required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Provide effective support to individuals experiencing substance misuse issues, promoting recovery and independence.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Previous experience working within Adult Social Care and/or Substance Misuse Services.
  • Experience managing duty work and completing timely assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, assessment and case management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
