About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Family Court Adviser to join the Public & Private Law Team in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a highly respected organisation, supporting children and families throughout family court proceedings and ensuring their best interests remain at the centre of decision-making.
The role involves undertaking complex assessments, preparing high-quality court reports, and making clear, evidence-based recommendations to the court.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake assessments of children and families in both Public and Private Law proceedings
- Prepare detailed, analytical court reports within required timescales
- Provide professional recommendations to inform court decisions
- Work collaboratively with legal professionals, guardians, and partner agencies
- Contribute to safeguarding and child protection planning
- Maintain accurate and timely case records
Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes
- Experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising social workers
- Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills
