The CP Chair will oversee Child Protection Conferences and ensure that all proceedings are conducted in a fair, transparent, and child-centered manner.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Facilitating Child Protection Conferences, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and contributing effectively.
  • Assessing and analyzing information presented to ensure comprehensive understanding of each child's circumstances.
  • Promoting collaborative working relationships among social workers, families, and external agencies.
  • Documenting and distributing meeting outcomes, recommendations, and action plans to relevant parties.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to social work teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker status with a relevant degree and registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding, with a strong understanding of legislation and practice frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities effectively.
