We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Child Protection (CP) Chair to join our team in Liverpool on a hybrid basis, offering a competitive rate of £40 per hour (umbrella). This role is crucial in ensuring that child protection processes are followed effectively and that the best interests of children are prioritized. You will be responsible for leading multi-agency meetings, facilitating discussions, and ensuring that all voices are heard in the decision-making process.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Chairing Child Protection Conferences and ensuring adherence to statutory guidelines.
  • Promoting effective communication among all parties involved, including social workers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Assessing risk and making informed recommendations to safeguard children.
  • Documenting proceedings accurately and ensuring timely distribution of minutes.
  • Providing guidance and support to social work teams in complex cases.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-agency settings.
