We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in Portsmouth. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and safeguarding vulnerable children in the foster care system.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Assessing and reviewing the needs of children and families involved in the fostering process
  • Developing and implementing care plans to ensure the well-being of children in foster care
  • Providing support and guidance to foster carers to enhance the quality of care provided
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for children
  • Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multidisciplinary meetings as required

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a valid HCPC registration
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children and families in a social work setting
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a complex caseload
