CAFCASS - FCA - Private Law - Brighton covering Surrey and Sussex
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our CAFCASS team in Brighton, covering the Surrey and Sussex areas. This role focuses on private law cases, where you will play a vital role in safeguarding children’s welfare and supporting families through challenging legal processes. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring that children's voices are heard and their best interests are prioritized in family court proceedings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of families involved in private law proceedings.
- Preparing detailed reports for court that reflect the needs and wishes of the children.
- Collaborating with legal professionals, other agencies, and stakeholders to ensure effective case management.
- Providing expert advice and support to families, helping them navigate complex emotional and legal challenges.
- Participating in court hearings and providing evidence when required.
Essential qualifications and skills for this role include:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in family law and a strong understanding of safeguarding policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and children.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to write clear, concise reports.
