The London Borough of Islington is launching an exciting pilot project within its Adult Social Care Review Team, and we are seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to help shape and deliver this innovative approach.

This pilot role is a unique opportunity to apply your professional expertise in occupational therapy within a review-focused team, helping to improve service outcomes and enhance the independence and wellbeing of local residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out holistic reviews and reablement-focused assessments in line with the Care Act 2014

Work closely with residents, carers, and multidisciplinary professionals to identify strengths, needs, and opportunities for independence

Recommend and coordinate equipment, adaptations, and support plans

Contribute to developing and evaluating the pilot model of specialist OT input within the review process

Maintain accurate and timely case records using council systems

Promote a person-centred, strength-based approach in all interventions

About You:
You will be a HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with a passion for improving outcomes for adults and older people. The ideal candidate will have:

Experience working in adult social care or hospital discharge

Excellent assessment, review, and report-writing skills

A solution-focused and collaborative working style

A good understanding of relevant legislation (e.g., Care Act, Mental Capacity Act)

A commitment to promoting independence and wellbeing through occupational therapy
