Rotherham - QSW - Community Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding
Community DoLS Social Worker - Rotherham | £33.12 PH | Hybrid
We are currently seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to undertake Community Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) assessments across Rotherham. This is an urgent requirement, and the successful candidate must be available to start as soon as possible and be local enough to complete timely community visits.
Location: Rotherham (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Rate: £33.12 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Length: Until the end of May
Hours: Full-time only
Key Responsibilities
Complete Community DoLS assessments, including robust analysis of restrictions and potential deprivation of liberty.
Apply strong working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) to ensure lawful and person-centred practice.
Carry out Care Act assessments and develop outcome-focused support plans that promote independence, proportionality, and least restrictive options.
Produce high-quality written reports with clear, evidence-based reasoning.
Engage effectively with individuals, families, providers, and multi-agency professionals.
Prioritise workload to ensure assessments and community visits are carried out in a timely and responsive manner.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
Strong experience completing DoLS assessments in the community
Good working knowledge of Mental Capacity Act and Care Act legislation
Ability to manage workload and complete community visits within required timescales
Must be able to start within a few weeks
