Rate: £35.44 per hour (Umbrella)
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to join the Changing Futures Team within Adult Social Care. This is a key leadership role designed to provide stability, direction, and oversight to a developing service managing complex and high-demand caseloads.
The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting practitioners, managing day-to-day operational pressures, and ensuring that all work is delivered in line with statutory responsibilities, policies, and best practice standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and management to a multidisciplinary team within the Changing Futures programme
Oversee and manage incoming demand, ensuring timely and appropriate allocation of work
Support staff with complex cases, offering guidance and reflective supervision
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
Promote high standards of practice and continuous service improvement
Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partner agencies
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience within Adult Social Care
Previous experience in a Team Manager or senior/advanced practitioner role
Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act and safeguarding frameworks
Ability to lead under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively
MOC Compliance Criteria:
Candidates must not have held a permanent Social Worker position within the last 12 months
Candidates must be able to commit to a 1-month notice period if required
Candidates must meet all MOC (Managed Order Compliance) guidelines
