Job Summary:

Surrey County Council is looking for an experienced Adolescent Social Worker to join their North Team. This role involves working with vulnerable adolescents at risk of exploitation, criminality, or family breakdown. The service is fast-paced, innovative, and committed to helping young people thrive through trauma-informed practice and relationship-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Holding a complex caseload of adolescents aged 12-18

  • Managing cases under Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC)

  • Working with issues such as contextual safeguarding, exploitation, and mental health

  • Developing and delivering effective care and intervention plans

  • Engaging with multi-agency partners, families, and communities

  • Preparing reports for legal proceedings and attending court when required

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England

  • Minimum 2-3 years' post-qualified experience in Children's Services

  • Experience of working with vulnerable and high-risk adolescents

  • Strong assessment, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, high-demand service

  • Must be a driver with access to a vehicle
