Social Worker required for work within the child protection and court Team based in Plymouth in Devon. Competitive rates of pay £45ph. 3 month minimum contract with opportunity to extend. 37 hours per week Close to the beautiful beaches of South Devon with good transport links via the A38 to M5.. Flexible working

Plymouth City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Child Protection & Court Team. This is a dynamic and challenging role focused on safeguarding children and managing cases through court proceedings to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection plans and court proceedings.
Undertake Section 47 investigations and risk assessments.
Prepare high-quality court reports and statements.
Attend court hearings and provide evidence when required.
Work closely with families, legal teams, and multi-agency partners.
Develop and implement care plans to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification.
Registration with Social Work England.
Experience within Child Protection and court work.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and court processes.
Ability to manage complex and high-risk cases.
Excellent assessment, report writing, and communication skills.
You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
