Sefton - Social Worker - Assessment Team
Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is currently looking for experienced Social Workers to join their Assessment Team.
Pay Rate: Up to £39.00 per hour (Umbrella).
Location: Piccadilly, Stockport
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake timely and high-quality assessments of children and families in line with statutory duties and safeguarding frameworks.
- Manage a varied caseload, ensuring child-focused practice and effective risk assessment.
- Carry out Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries, identifying levels of need and risk.
- Develop and implement outcome-focused child and family plans to improve safety and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, police, and other professionals to safeguard children.
- Build strong, effective relationships with children, young people, and families to support positive change.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and evidence-based reports for case conferences, court proceedings, and reviews.
- Maintain up-to-date case records and ensure compliance with legislation, policy, and professional standards.
- Participate in strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and multi-agency meetings.
- Make informed recommendations regarding child protection, care proceedings, and early help interventions.
- Contribute to service improvement and uphold best practice in safeguarding and social work delivery.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
