Sefton - ATM - Court Advisory Team
Sefton Metropolitan Brough Council is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager to support their Court Advisory Team.
Location: Trinity Road, Bootle
Pay Rate: Up to £40.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Team Manager in the operational leadership of the Court Advisory Team, ensuring high-quality social work practice and performance.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and case direction to social workers managing public and private law proceedings.
- Ensure timely and effective preparation of court reports, statements, and care plans in line with statutory requirements and court timetables.
- Monitor caseloads, workflow, and performance to ensure compliance with legislation, practice standards, and service KPIs.
- Chair professional meetings, strategy discussions, and planning meetings where required.
- Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, reflective supervision, and quality assurance of practice.
- Oversee risk management and ensure robust safeguarding practice for children subject to court proceedings.
- Contribute to service development, audits, and implementation of best practice and policy updates.
- Work collaboratively with legal teams, CAFCASS, guardians, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children.
- Deputise for the Team Manager in their absence, including decision-making and escalation management.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and high professional standards.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
