Social Worker (Adults Safeguarding Team - A&C)
Leicestershire County Council
£34 per hour
Full-time (Hybrid working)

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Adult Team.

The team provides a short-term, focused safeguarding intervention to ensure timely risk management and person-centred outcomes in line with Making Safeguarding Personal principles.

Key responsibilities:

  • Apply safeguarding thresholds and manage Section 42 enquiries
  • Identify and respond to immediate risk
  • Undertake Mental Capacity and Best Interest decisions where required
  • Engage with adults to understand and achieve their desired outcomes
  • Hold strategy meetings and multi-agency discussions
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to coordinate safeguarding responses
  • Ensure safeguarding practice is person-centred and strengths-based

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Strong knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act
  • Experience in safeguarding, risk management, and multi-agency working
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Full UK driving licence or access to a vehicle

Team information:

  • Average caseload: 15
  • Team structure: 1 Team Manager, 9 Social Workers, 2 CSWs

Working pattern:

  • Full-time role
  • Hybrid working (majority home-based)
  • Office attendance required for weekly meetings and 6-weekly team meetings
