Role Overview
Leicestershire County Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the Children & Family Services (CFS) First Response Team on a part-time basis. This is a high-impact role working within the front door service, providing rapid response to safeguarding concerns and protecting vulnerable children.
This agency opportunity is ideal for social workers seeking a flexible part-time position while making a real difference to children and families in Leicestershire.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to child protection referrals and safeguarding concerns
- Conduct assessments and investigations to determine risk and support needs
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
- Prepare high-quality reports and documentation for internal review and legal purposes
- Provide direct social work interventions, including child and family support plans
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and supervision to ensure statutory compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
Essential Requirements
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualifying experience in children's services
- Social Work England registration
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and statutory frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
