Worcestershire - Social Worker - CP / CIN Team
Worcestershire County Council is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to Join their Child Protection / Children in Needs Team.
Location: County Hall, Worcester
Pay Rate: £28.55 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of Child Protection (CP) and Children in Need (CIN) cases, ensuring children are safeguarded and supported effectively.
- Undertake statutory assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and Child & Family Assessments in line with legislation and local procedures.
- Develop, implement, and review Child Protection and Children in Need plans to improve outcomes for children and families.
- Build positive, strengths-based relationships with children, young people, and families, ensuring their voices are central to all decision-making.
- Identify, assess, and manage safeguarding risks, taking timely action to protect children from harm.
- Work collaboratively with education, health, police, legal services, and other multi-agency partners to deliver coordinated support.
- Attend and contribute to Child Protection Conferences, Core Group Meetings, and other statutory planning meetings.
- Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and court documentation where required.
- Maintain accurate, timely case records and ensure compliance with statutory guidance, legislation, and local authority standards.
- Promote positive change, family resilience, and sustainable outcomes while ensuring the child's welfare remains the primary focus.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
