Worcestershire - Social Worker - Looked After Team
Worcestershire County Council is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to Join their Looked After Children Team.
Location: County Hall, Worcester
Pay Rate: £28.55 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of Looked After Children, ensuring their safety, stability, and wellbeing at all times.
- Complete statutory visits, assessments, care plans, and reviews in line with legislation and statutory timescales.
- Develop and progress permanence plans, including reunification, long-term fostering, Special Guardianship, and adoption where appropriate.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people, ensuring their wishes and feelings are central to care planning.
- Work collaboratively with foster carers, families, education, health professionals, Independent Reviewing Officers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Support children and young people to access education, healthcare, and emotional wellbeing services to help them thrive.
- Prepare high-quality court reports, care plans, and other statutory documentation as required.
- Identify, assess, and manage safeguarding risks, ensuring timely action is taken to protect children.
- Support young people in preparing for independence and successful transition into adulthood through effective pathway planning.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory guidance, local authority policies, and performance standards.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
