An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Connected Carers Team in South Tyneside. About the Role

As a member of the Connected Carers Team, you will play a key role in assessing and supporting family and friends carers, ensuring children are placed in safe, stable, and nurturing environments. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to deliver high-quality outcomes while maintaining excellent professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assessments of connected carers and kinship carers.

  • Undertake safeguarding and child protection work in line with statutory guidance.

  • Prepare high-quality reports and assessments for court and permanence planning.

  • Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and multi-agency partners.

  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure timely interventions.

  • Contribute to achieving positive outcomes for children through effective care planning.

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration.

  • Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes.

  • Experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising social workers is desirable.

  • Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload while working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
