Birmingham - SP - South Safeguarding Service
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Birmingham - SP - South Safeguarding Service team. As a key member of our safeguarding service, you will play a crucial role in protecting and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and families in the Birmingham area.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting assessments and investigations to determine the safety and well-being of children at risk.
- Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with other professionals and agencies.
- Providing support and guidance to families to address safeguarding concerns and promote positive outcomes.
- Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings to advocate for the best interests of children.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements and organizational policies.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding work within a social care setting.
- Strong assessment, communication, and decision-making skills to effectively engage with children and families.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare and safeguarding.
