Social Worker - 16/17 yrs Homelessness & Prevention - Birmingham
Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join Birmingham Children's Trust, supporting young people aged 16-17 who are at risk of homelessness or present as homeless.
Role Overview:
This role focuses on early intervention and intensive support to vulnerable young people who may be experiencing crisis situations and are at risk of entering care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertaking Section 17 (S17) assessments and creating Child in Need (CIN) plans within statutory timescales
* Supporting and accommodating young people under Section 20 (S20)
* Completing pathway plans for young people transitioning into independence
* Providing trauma-informed and therapeutic direct work with young people and their families
* Preventing care entry by engaging families and building resilience
* Working collaboratively with Edge of Care teams, Family Group Conferences, Family Connectors, and wider universal services
* Applying a strong understanding of the Southwark Judgement in decision-making and practice
* Supporting young people who have experienced trauma, attachment difficulties, child criminal and sexual exploitation (CCE/CSE), and mental health challenges
Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* At least2 years' PERM experience as a social worker within children's services
* Social Work England Registration
* Driving license and access to own vehicle
