As a Qualified Social Worker in the Fostering Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and supporting foster carers to ensure they provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Conducting assessments of children’s needs and developing tailored care plans.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to promote the welfare of children in care.
  • Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster families, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in fostering practices.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Care Wales (or eligibility to register).
  • Proven experience in fostering or child protection social work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices.
