Nottinghamshire County Council is Looking for Social Worker for their Family Support and Safeguarding Team.

Payrate: -Up to £35.00 p/h Umbrella

Location: - Retford Education Centre, Old Hall Drive, Retford, Notts.

Shift patterns: - 8:30 - 5pm Mon-Thurs, 8:30-4:30 on Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of Child Protection (CP) cases, conducting assessments and planning for children and families in need of support.
  • Lead and contribute to Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) planning, ensuring that safeguarding processes are followed effectively.
  • Work on initial looked-after processes, supporting families through the early stages of care proceedings.
  • Prepare and present evidence in court for Child Protection and Pre-Proceedings / PLO cases, ensuring clear and accurate reports.
  • Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners, including in-house Women's Aid and CGL, to support families with complex needs such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health challenges.
  • Conduct assessments and reviews, ensuring that all interventions are child-focused and meet the needs of families in line with safeguarding standards.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records and reports, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and departmental policies.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
