London Borough of Waltham Forest is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Major Adaptations Team, working as part of a fast-paced and supportive Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).

In this crucial role, you will carry out specialist assessments for individuals referred for major adaptations to their home, due to illness, disability, or palliative conditions. You will manage a complex caseload, including urgent work, and play a key role in enabling people to live safely and independently in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake detailed, person-centred assessments to determine the need for major housing adaptations.

Manage urgent and complex cases, including those involving palliative care and advanced moving & handling needs.

Collaborate effectively within a busy MDT, contributing to holistic intervention planning.

Provide expert advice and recommendations in line with legislation, clinical guidance, and best practice.

Ensure that all work is completed in a timely, professional, and outcome-focused manner.

Essential Criteria:

Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.

Proven experience in complex Moving & Handling (M&H).

Sound knowledge of housing adaptations and equipment provision.

Strong assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desirable:

Level 4 Assessor Training.

Experience working with Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) and housing legislation.
