We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer/Child Protection Chair to join our team in Birmingham. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding the well-being of vulnerable children and families in the local community.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Conducting reviews of child protection cases and making recommendations for future actions
  • Chairing meetings with various stakeholders to discuss and assess the needs of children and families
  • Ensuring that all decisions made are in the best interests of the children involved
  • Providing support and guidance to social workers and other professionals involved in the case

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration
  • Significant experience working within a child protection or looked after children team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound judgments
