Haringey Council is seeking an Advanced Practitioner to work within the Independence & Access service, supporting service users with complex care and therapy needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about improving independence and reducing the risk of injury for individuals, their families, and carers.

Job Advert: Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist - Independence & Access
Location: 48 Station Road, London, Greater London, N22 6UX, United Kingdom
Hourly Rate: £42 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and provide equipment to improve independence with daily activities
  • Complete major/minor adaptations to homes to enable independence and reduce risk
  • Carry out manual handling assessments to reduce risk of injury to service users
  • Support the Team Manager in leading a multi-disciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Sensory Impairment Practitioners, and Equipment Managers
  • Provide expert advice and contribute to the development of practice and policy
  • Foster team practices to support innovative ways of working
  • Conduct community care and safeguarding assessments
  • Ensure positive outcomes for service users, carers, and families
  • Support the Team Manager in setting performance targets and standards
  • Demonstrate the values of Haringey Council in every aspect of your work

Requirements:

  • HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
  • Proven experience in a similar advanced practitioner role
  • Strong knowledge of assessment, manual handling, and complex care needs
  • Experience in leading or supporting a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of complex cases
  • Excellent decision-making and risk management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with service users, colleagues, and external agencies
