Shropshire - Senior Practitioner - UASC Team - Up to £38 p/h Umb
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Team in Shropshire. The position is available at a competitive rate of up to £38 per hour on an Umbrella basis. As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for a range of key duties, including:
- Managing a caseload of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, ensuring their welfare and safeguarding needs are met.
- Conducting assessments and developing tailored care plans to support the individual needs of each child.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff members and social work students.
- Collaborating with external agencies, including health services, education providers, and legal representatives.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the strategic development of services for UASC.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualification experience in children's social work, particularly with unaccompanied minors.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
