Job Summary: Advanced Practitioner Role in Bedford Borough's CONECT Assessment Team

As an Advanced Practitioner Social Worker at Bedford Borough Council, you will supervise and support a team of four social workers and one child practitioner, ensuring excellent safeguarding standards for children and families in Bedford. You will chair strategy meetings, allocate cases, and provide supervision-all within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading and managing a team of social workers and child practitioners in the Assessment Team (CONECT Team).

  • Case allocation and workload management to meet safeguarding targets.

  • Chairing multi-agency strategy meetings to safeguard vulnerable children.

  • Providing case supervision and personal support to your team members.

  • Ensuring compliance with Children's Social Care legislation and Bedford Borough safeguarding policies.

  • Collaborating closely with the Team Leader to drive service improvements.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

  • Proven experience in an advanced practitioner or senior social work role within children's social care.

  • Strong leadership and team management experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, risk assessment, and multi-agency working.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
