Hours: 37h full time Mon to Fri

Overview:

Wokingham Borough Council are seeking an experienced candidate to join the Asset Management and Compliance team, within Housing Services, to support the delivery of responsive repairs and voids works to 3,000 homes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong social housing background and technical understanding of property maintenance / construction. They should possess the knowledge to deliver effective and efficient property maintenance services to customers by working closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and third-party contractors to meet commercial, operational, safety and satisfaction performance.

The role has no line management responsibilities, but the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operations, and work closely with back-office staff, surveyors, management, customers, as well as being a key liaison with third party contractors.

Duties:

Organise third-party contractors to deliver responsive repairs and void works.
Review work order schedules and ensure Wokingham Borough Council is receiving quality outcomes and cost-effective services.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as Wokingham Borough Council's policies and procedures.
Complete on-site safety and quality assurance checks of responsive repairs and void works.
Support with contract management duties of third-party contractors to ensure performance is achieved across key variables.
Support with complaint investigations by visiting complainants, collating evidence, and providing information in the required timescales.
Support the Asset Management and Compliance team with service improvements as required.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a management or senior supervisory role, demonstrating strong leadership abilities.
Must live within commutable distance to the Wokingham Borough.
Solid understanding of project management principles and practices.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making, whilst working with internal stakeholders, customers, and third-party contractors.
Sound understanding of contract management principles to achieve commercial, operational, safety and satisfaction performance.
