Department Overview:
The Cardiology team at Yeovil District Hospital is seeking an experienced Band 7 Echocardiographer to deliver high-quality, autonomous echocardiographic investigations within the Clinical Investigations Unit. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-established cardiology department in a patient-focused environment.

Role Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for independently performing and reporting transthoracic echocardiograms. BSE accreditation is essential, and candidates with additional pacemaker experience (implant and follow-up) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
Independently perform and interpret transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) to a high diagnostic standard.

Provide accurate, timely echo reports using appropriate reporting software.

Where required, support independent pacemaker follow-up and implant checks.

Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately.

Collaborate with cardiologists and clinical staff to support patient diagnosis and treatment planning.

Contribute to departmental audits, quality assurance, and best practice sharing.

Essential Criteria:
BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification.

BSE Accreditation (British Society of Echocardiography) - essential.

Substantial post-qualification experience in echocardiography.

Proven ability to work independently in a clinical echo setting.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Criteria:
Experience in pacemaker implantation and follow-up.

Familiarity with NHS systems and electronic patient records.

NHS experience at Band 6 or 7 level.
