Bury Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead its Children with Disabilities Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader to manage a specialist service supporting children and young people with complex disabilities, health needs, and their families. The team works with children up to 17 years old who have significant physical, learning, sensory, communication, or life-limiting conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and support to Social Workers and support staff.
  • Oversee complex assessments, child protection plans, CIN plans, and court proceedings.
  • Drive high-quality practice and ensure statutory responsibilities are met.
  • Manage performance, caseloads, and service delivery within the team.
  • Work collaboratively with education, health, SEND, and multi-agency partners.
  • Promote positive outcomes and safeguarding for children with disabilities and their families.

Requirements:

✔ Social Work England registration
✔ Qualified Social Worker with management experience
✔ Strong background within Children with Disabilities, Safeguarding, or Child Protection services
✔ Experience managing complex cases and leading social work teams
✔ Excellent leadership, decision-making, and multi-agency working skills
